Well, I'm relatively new to letterboxing, and didn't think twice about
just sticking my hand between a couple of rocks. I felt something
soft and a bit squishy, but it wasn't slimey, so I thought "maybe this
"box" is really a "bag."" Imagine my surprise (and HIS!) when I
pulled out a toad!! I'm proud of myself ... I didn't scream, and I
didn't throw the toad :-) And the toad didn't seem to be the least
put-out about being handled. I set him back on the ground, and he
hopped back under the rock.
Now I carry a small flashlight with me. There aren't too many REALLY
dangerous things in my area of the world, but I don't want to get
bitten or stung, just the same!
